UPDATE: Louisville Metro Police and U.S. Marshals picked up 27 yr. ol Brock Hanley at Exter Ave. and Indian Trail in Louisville. Monday, at 2:30 a.m. Hanley went into the Bon Harbor Shell Station located at Hwy. 60 and Wendell Ford Expressway and robbed the clerk at gunpoint. He shot the clerk in the abdomen and the later clerk died. Police were able to determine a suspect from the surveillance cameras. Arrangements are being made to bring Thompson back to Owensboro Monday night. Previously Reported: An armed and extremely dangerous suspect on the run --that's what Daviess county officials are saying about a man suspected of killing a gas station clerk during a robbery in Owensboro. Just before 3 a.m. a man walked into the Bon Harbor Shell station at the end of the US 60 bypass and gunned down 46 year old Suba Singh. With the help of witnesses and surveillance tape officials became confident the shooter was Brock Hanley. Detectives then learned the van Hanley reportedly drove away in matched the description of one OPD reported stolen. Then it wasn't long until officials began chasing Hanley all over the tri-state. They learned he was at the Evansville airport and then went by taxi to Casino Aztar. After that he took a taxi to Reo Indiana where he stole a used car under the guise of test driving it. He went to an Owensboro dealer and did the same thing. Officials say Hanley actually called the assistant County Attorney's office and then confessed to a Daviess county detective-- saying he wanted to turn himself in, but he never did. When Hanley is arrested he'll be charged with murder and armed robbery. |
