Reported by: Sarah Fortune Thursday, Jun 19, 2008 @05:15pm EDT A local prison was packed full of proud parents, family members and friends Thursday.
Thanks to Indiana State University, offenders will leave with more than they arrived with, an education and a diploma. The audience clapped and cameras flashed as students approached the stage. Bachelors, associates, and general education degrees were awarded Thursday afternoon. Educated inmates are less likely to return to a life of crime. Those who graduated are likely to have their sentence reduced. |
