Reported by: Sarah Fortune Sunday, Jul 6, 2008 @05:52pm EDT 4-H’ers put a lot of time and effort into their projects. Unfortunately, many projects didn't make it to the fair because of last month's flooding.
Besides destroying homes, the flood destroyed numerous 4-H projects. Children involved with agriculture were hit the hardest. One fourth-grade girl worked all year long growing corn for this year's fair. However, her crops were ruined by, “too much water.” Instead of giving up, she wrote about her family's loss and what she learned. Judges accepted the essay as her 4-H project. The crops are on display along with essays in the exhibit building. |
