Reported by: Marcy Foust Friday, May 15, 2009 @03:40pm EDT Students and staff were put to the test at Sarah Scott Middle School.
The school held its annual evacuation drill on Friday. Terre Haute city police and firefighters also participated. The school wants to make sure students and staff know how to evacuate quickly and safely. Mark Miller is the principal. He says one important tool for these drills is an emergency kit that each classroom is assigned. "The emergency kits have things such as emergency procedures, flashlights, red and green cards inside that teachers use to let me know or police and fire units know that everything is either okay or that they need help." Principal Miller says overall the drill went well, but there are a few things that will be worked on. |
