An accident closed a part of 41 Thursday afternoon. A mom and her 3 young kids were hurt in the crash.

The crash backed up traffic for almost an hour.

It happened at the intersection of us 41 and Freelandville Road in Oaktown.

Northbound traffic was completely shut down and southbound traffic slowed as life-line landed on the scene.

That chopper transported a 7 y/o boy with serious injuries. He was taken to Methodist Hospital.

The mother of the children suffered minor injuries. Passengers in the other vehicle were not hurt.

Police say the driver of the van failed to yield as she turned left across the northbound lanes of 41. The truck couldn't stop in time; it t-boned the van.

A flood of emergency personnel responded to the accident scene to help.

41 was eventually re-opened and the accident scene cleaned up.

Police do not plan on filing charges on either driver.
