Reported by: Marcy Foust Wednesday, Aug 19, 2009 @12:49pm EDT A network that helps deliver government and political news is hoping to attract a younger audience.
The C-SPAN Civics Bus tours the country and Wednesday stopped at West Vigo High School. The bus is a learning tool, but also a mobile studio. Jeremy Art is a C-SPAN Marketing Representative. He says students get a tour of the bus and brief presentation about how the network differs from others. “Sooner or later these kids are going to be voting and so we hope they know there can be bias in the media. We're not saying one network is better than another or whether things lean left or right. We just want to make sure they know C-SPAN is there incase they want to get the whole story, the entire event without someone telling them what they saw what they heard or what someone else said.” On Tuesday the C-SPAN bus made a stop at the Indiana State Fair. It will make a stop at the Illinois State Fair on Thursday. |
