Area farmers had a special destination and it is the latest Hometown Headline from Casey. The 15th annual Clark/Cumberland County Ag Expo was held at Richard's Farm Restaurant. The program was full of speakers talking about everything from how to market this upcoming crop to an expert on combating a stubborn weed that has affected area fields. Susan Guinnip of the expo says there were also fifteen exhibitors who made the day complete, "It gives them an opportunity to visit with the farmers and, uh, kind of give them a heads up on what the needs and concerns are for the coming growing season and, uh, then, especially for the farmers, it gives the farmers the opportunity to talk to those businesses but also learn a little bit about the issues and concerns and things that are going on right now in agriculture." WILL radio provided three experts for a panel of new marketing strategies for the 2008 growing season. |
