  • Sycamores Snap 33-game Winless Streak

    Saturday, Oct 24, 2009 @11:34pm EDT

The longest losing streak in college football came to an end Saturday in Terre Haute.

The Indiana State football team is celebrating their first win since 2006.

They snapped the nation's longest losing streak with a homecoming victory over Western Illinois.

The Sycamores had lost 33 games straight coming into the match up.

Quarterback Ryan Roberts led the charge for ISU, scoring both of the Sycamores’ touchdowns, including a 91 yard rushing touchdown that would give ISU a 10-7 lead at the half.

He would add another touchdown in the fourth quarter to reclaim the lead as the sycamores led 17-14 with four minutes remaining.

The Sycamore defense contained Western Illinois in the final minutes to give ISU a 17-14 win, snapping that 33-game losing streak.
