Indiana State men's basketball has received their highest pre-season ranking in eight years as the Missouri Valley Conference held its basketball media day Tuesday.

The Sycamores are picked to finish seventh in the league, that's their highest predicted finish since the 2001-2002 season.

Several Sycamores have also been tabbed with pre-season individual honors.

Junior transfer Jake Kelly and senior Harry Marshall were named pre-season All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Kelly will make his ISU debut this season after earning an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention last year at Iowa.

And in addition to the buzz surrounding Kelly's contributions, head coach Kevin McKenna said today he is excited to see his rookies from the Wabash Valley make an impact from the start.

The Sycamores open exhibition on Tuesday, November 3 when they host Rose-Hulman.
