Vigo County veterans will do their part to help honor Sergeant Dale Griffin.

Sgt. Griffin died last Tuesday in Afghanistan.

He will be laid to rest on Veteran's Day.

The Vigo County Veterans Association plans to modify their annual Veteran's Day parade.

It will also serve as a funeral procession.

The veterans hope you'll come to the parade and pay your respects to a fallen hero.

"There’s not that many people who attend the Veteran's Day parade, and I don't understand it,” said Henry Shattuck, the Commander of the Vigo County Veteran’s Association. “I hope they come out, a lot of them, this year for him and the rest of the veterans."

When the procession concludes at the VFW, there will be a brief ceremony.

Then, Sgt. Griffin's body will be transported to Terre Haute South High School for his funeral.

Burial will follow in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
