Reported by: Marcy Foust Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @03:50pm EST Bloomfield School held an H1N1 vaccination clinic on Friday.
Students were able to get either the flu mist or shot. Around 400 students in grades kindergarten through 12 took advantage of the vaccinations. Dan Sichting is the superintendent. He says the school district did what it could to inform parents about the vaccine and the clinic. “We want our kids to be safe we felt like this was a great opportunity for the kids in terms of safety. And it's a parental decision whether they get the vaccine or not. What we tried to do was put out a letter with the pros and cons and let parents decide if they want to have their children vaccinated.” Superintendent Sichting says extra precautions are also being taken. Rooms are being cleaned more often and more thoroughly to keep students and staff healthy. |
