Many Vigo County residents are still looking for work, but officials at Express Employment Professionals say jobs are available in the Valley.

However, about 10 people apply for each job opening and many Terre Haute companies are only hiring temporary workers in case the economy gets worse.

"With the down sizings that have happened in town, it's made it very difficult to replace a lot of the skilled or higher level positions. If people are flexible and willing to consider different types of employment, they're more likely to be employed again," says Anita Crane of Express Employment Professionals.
