Reported by: Jon Swaner Saturday, Nov 21, 2009 @06:49pm EST Earlier this week, the Vigo County Board of Health voted to establish an air pollution control division.
Last year, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management cancelled contracts with Vigo County Air Pollution Control. They had federal permits to take air samples and collect air monitoring data. The move by the board of health dismantles air pollution control. The health department now proposes they hire two inspectors and an administrative assistant. It will be up to the county council on whether to establish those positions. |
