Reported by: Jon Swaner Tuesday, Nov 24, 2009 @07:01pm EST The Vigo Commissioners passed a revised tattoo and body-piercing ordinance.
It requires all artists to be licensed and have a permit through the county health department. There are new identification standards for clients. It also prohibits branding, tongue splitting, implants and scarification. All artists must now be 18 years old to do tattoos or piercings. "We have not done something outside the limits and holding it to something we can live with for the community," said Commissioner Judy Anderson. Violators of this ordinance can be fined up to $250. |
