Many retailers are pulling out all the stops during this holiday weekend shopping period.

For the first time in its history Toys R Us will open at midnight on Thanksgiving night.  This shopping version of "midnight madness" is going on around country as well as here in Terre Haute.

The store will stay open until midnight Friday.  The tactic is going to lure some shoppers and others are avoiding the crowd.

Joy Wernz of West Union, Illinois says, "My sister and I go every year and we live in Illinois so we get up extra early and just come over and stand in line.  Tom McClanahan asks, "Are you going to spend more or less money this year?"  Joy responds, "Probably more because my kids are getting older.  Then tom asked Tammy Brawley, "Are you going to come in here at midnight?"  Tammy responded, "No way, Jose!"  Tom then asked, "Now, how about black Friday, brown Friday, whatever they call it, are you going to get out early?"  Tammy said, "No, I avoid that."

Again Toys R Us will be opening at midnight Thursday.
