Reported by: Marcy Foust Thursday, Nov 26, 2009 @02:48pm EST Before Thanksgiving dinner, many Terre Haute residents got in a good workout.
The Terre Haute Family Y hosted its fourth annual Turkey Burn. For two hours Thursday morning everyone was invited to do aerobics, cycling and zumba. Program Director Kennetha Jordan says this is the best attendance the Y has had since the event began. “People every year they're commitment to fitness is a little more and a little bit greater. Obesity is important here, it's very prevalent in Indiana and people are making that commitment to fitness so it doesn't matter if it's Thanksgiving.” The Turkey Burn was free. Those who participated just had to bring a non-perishable food item that will be given to Catholic Charities. |
