Parents work hard to keep their babies safe. We discover that keeping baby healthy can be good for mother earth as well.

Hudson is all smiles after his mother decided to try something different to treat a pesky irritation.

"My son had a rash that we couldn't get rid of then the doctor didn't know what was wrong so we tried different creams and so I decided to go with organic wipes," mom, Abby Clevenger says.

Clevenger is just one mom who has taken an all-natural approach to baby products.

"If we can buy as much organic items as we can whether its food or diapers or baby wipes, just because Its so much better for our children," Clevenger adds.

In a global context, Clevenger’s decision to buy organic can best be described as baby steps.

But, Sara Kracman, who owns an organic baby products company, says any step in that direction is a good one.

"The organic products are obviously organic because they're not grown with the pesticides and what not as their conventional counterparts the disposable diapers. They’re filled with polymers and different kinds of chemicals and bleaches and a lot of kids are sensitive to them or even allergic to them," Kracman says.

When it comes to a baby’s health, Kracman says natural products are much better than synthetic materials.

She suggests one hundred percent cotton or wool for things that go on baby and organic for what goes in baby.

"It tastes better, it looks better, it feels better, it’s healthier,” Kracman adds.

Keeping your baby green doesn’t have to be overwhelming. It’s as easy as choosing cloth diapers and wool blankets, organic shampoos, or all-natural breast pads.

And that’s good news for Hudson and his mom.

"They're your life, you want them to have the best and you don't want anything to happen to them,” Clevenger adds.

If you choose to go organic it doesn't have to feel like you're going back in time. Cloth diapers for example are very easy to use. They come in different sizes and have velcro and snap closures for your convenience.
