Brazil, Indiana is one of the Wabash Valley's more unique hometowns. Located in the heart of the midwest in Clay County, Brazil is just 13 miles east of Terre Haute and 1 hour west of Indianapolis on US Highway 40.
According to the 2000 Census, Brazil's population is 8,188 and is the county seat for Clay County. The brick and clay industry has historically been the cornerstone of Brazil's economy by providing building products to states as far away as Oregon and Texas.
