Welcome to the Brazil homepage.
Brazil is a small town with a big history. Here are just a few famous people who called Brazil home: Jimmy Hoffa (Union Organizer), Orville Redenbacher (Popcorn tycoon), Henry Lee Summer (80s Pop Singer), harold "Babe" Wheeler (Hall of Fame High School Basketball Coach), George N. Craig (Governor of Indiana and Past National Commander of American Legion), and Ivan Fuqua (Winner of Gold Medal in 4X400m Relay at the 1932 summer Olympics).
s history is the "Old National Road," which travels through the middle of the city. The National Road, known today as U.S. Highway 40, was the first highway built entirely with federal
funds. The road was authorized by Congress in 1806 during the
Jefferson Administration. and closely paralleled
the military road opened by George Washington and General Braddock
in 1754-55. The National road connected the east to the west and was the primary route of transportation for goods and commerce in the U.S. Today, the road is still a viable byway and offers a scenic slice of Americana.
