Sydney Benter

Sydney Benter joined the NBC 2 team in August 2011 as an evening anchor. She grew up in a suburb outside of Cincinnati. Sydney graduated magna cum laude from the University of Cincinnati with a BFA in electronic media, a double major in journalism and a minor in Spanish. While in college, she interned at WCPO and WKRC in Cincinnati. She also spent a summer interning for HLN at CNN World Headquarters in Atlanta.
While studying at the University of Cincinnati, Sydney was active in UCAST, the University of Cincinnati All-Student Television Station. She worked as a multimedia journalist and anchor for the student-produced newscast, Uptown. She also wrote and hosted a weekly update show called "CCM Weekly."
Sydney grew up performing in the theater and appreciates the art of storytelling. She is also interested in political science and current events. Television news allows her the platform to tell important stories and feeds her need to be "in the know."
Sydney is an animal lover and ardent supporter of the fine arts. She is also a fan of all things Cincinnati--Skyline Chili, Reds baseball and Graeter's ice cream. Despite her affections for the Queen City, Sydney is excited to see what life is like as a Hoosier!
