1-1/2 C. butter, softened
2 C. all-purpose flour
1 C. confectioners' sugar
1 C. cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
Optional: 1/2 C. chopped pecans
Work all ingredients together with your hands until blended. Add pecans if desired and mix well. Shape all of the dough into 1 inch balls.
Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheets, 2 inches apart at 300 degrees F for 20 minutes.
Let cool 10 minutes then carefully lift with spatula to cake racks to cool. Store in airtight container with waxed paper between layers.
