2/3 C. shortening
3/4 C. granulated sugar
1/2 C. orange juice
2 TBSP orange zest
2 C. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
In a small mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients and set aside.
Using a mixer blend together shortening, sugar and egg. Stir in orange juice and zest. Add dry ingredients and stir until combined.
Drop by round teaspoons 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
Bake 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.
Top with Orange Buttercream Icing (See Below)
2 C. sifted powdered sugar
2 TBSP butter, softened
1 TBSP orange zest
1 TBSP orange juice
Using a mixer blend together powdered sugar and butter until creamy. Stir in orange juice and zest.
