Girls Basketball State Finals Coming Back To Terre Haute

By: Wendell Hudson
Updated: June 22, 2012
State champions in girls basketball will be crowned in Terre Haute again next year.

The Indiana High School Athletic Association unanimously voted to bring the annual girls state finals back to the Hulman Center for a second year. Indianapolis and Fort Wayne were also being considered to host the event.

"In the final analysis, the proposal from Terre Haute provided the best support and opportunities to the eight member schools that will arrive at the state finals along with other considerations extended to the IHSAA," Commissioner Bobby Cox said. "The entire Terre Haute community should be proud of their leadership in the creation and execution of this effort."
