Updated: July 14, 2012
An accident claims the life of one person who was traveling through the area.

The Clay County Coroner's Office identifies the victim as 76 year old Mary Franklin of Lake Como, New Jersey.

Dr. Roland Kohr determined Franklin died of blunt force trauma prior to her vehicle catching fire.

The accident happened at 1:21 Sunday morning in the westbound lanes of I-70 near the 25 mile marker.

State Police say the driver, 52 year old Daniel Franklin, swerved to avoid a deer.

The vehicle went into the median, hit several trees and burst into flames.

Daniel Franklin is in fair condition at Wishard Hospital's burn unit.
