A plot of land in Terre Haute is getting a new lease on life.
According to the Tribune Star, about an acre of property that was once home to a gas station has been sold to a local salvage business.
The paper reports that the Terre Haute redevelopment commission agreed to sell the property on 13th Street and College Avenue to Goodman & Wolfe. The property reportedly sold for $11,000.
Goodman & Wolfe own a salvage yard adjacent to the property.
City officials say 2,000 tons of petroleum contaminated soil had to be cleaned up before the sale.
