The hospital opened the doors to its brand new, state of the art emergency room on Wednesday.
The nearly thirteen thousand square foot ER has nine private treatment rooms, which will help with patient privacy.
Patients and staff will also benefit from the state of the art trauma room that surrounds a central nurses station.
Don Annis- CEO Crawford Memorial Hospital
"I mean we're talking about a fresh sheet of paper. Not just remodeling with fresh wallpaper and paint or something. This is a complete gutting renovation of an existing area and greatly expanded."
Sandra Burtron- Chief Nursing Officer
"Previously we had rooms that were curtained off. And unfortunately that doesn't allow much privacy for patients. When patients come to the emergency room it's a critical time in their life. And it's important, privacy is very important to them."
Remodeling the hospital's surgical suite will be their next project.
They hope to have that completed by the Summer of 2013.
