A severe storm sweeping through the Valley Thursday and left many people to pick up the pieces today.

Marshall, Illinois is one town that really took a beating.

Downed power lines leave many Marshall residents in darkness still today.

The town's mayor says they are still working to bring power back to 20 to 30 homes.

Meanwhile homeowners are left with damage to repair, and a trail of tree limbs to pick up.

"It was pretty extensive damage. We had about 40 trees blow down, 10 power poles that were snapped off, and it took quite a bit of work to put back up," said Marshall, Illinois Mayor Kenneth Smith.
