Baesler`s Introduces Pay By Touch

Updated: January 7, 2009
Attention women who hate carrying a purse, or men who don`t like change in their pockets. Those are things or the past, at least while grocery shopping at one local store. Baesler`s Grocery Store in Terre Haute has introduced "Pay By Touch." It allows shoppers to pay using their finger. All they have to do is enroll with a photo ID, a voided check and their finger. This eliminates some paying hassles and is more secure than other forms of pay. Baesler`s owner, Bob Baesler said, "The reason that we did it was to make the checkout even more convenient for customers. Of course handling cash is inconvenient for not only the cashier but it is for the customer as well." The system works just like using a check with the two day float period before the money is withdrawn. Once enrolled in the system you can use your finger to pay at any store that has pay by touch, no matter where you are.
