An annual party provides some families with an early Christmas.
Saturday began the 6th annual Wabash Valley Correctional Facility Winter Carnival.
The facility fatherhood program hosts the Christmas themed event.
This weekend more than 100 kids visited their dads inside the decorated facility.
Organizers say the program is one of the keys to re-entry success for the offenders.
Offenders say the program has transformed their lives, and the lives of their kids.
"My youngest one and I hadn't spoken in nine years until this program allowed that to happen. Since then we've built a relationship and stayed in communication. It just creates a much better environment that isn't imposing or scary to them," said father and inmate Robert Chambers.
The event ends tomorrow.
