The Irish celebrations in the Valley carry over to an annual parade.
Hundreds of locals lined the streets of Terre Haute from Ohio Blvd. to Nineteenth St.
Our Jon Swaner and his wife walked the parade route, along with several festive St. Patrick's Day floats.
Locals say it's a great way to bring the community together.
"I think it's so good for the community, because it's such a fun time of year. It brings everyone out, and it's a great opportunity for people of all ages. It's really exciting to celebrate St. Patrick's Day; I love that Terre Haute has this big celebration. It's not just fun for me, but for all the little kids," said Mary Ann Etling.
The parade is expected to be held this time next year.
