In a time of low employment numbers, some places around the Valley are hiring.

The Wabash Valley Correctional Facility announced plans to fill 28 correctional officer positions.

In addition to those openings the facility's food service provider Aramark is hiring eight positions.

Interested applicants were able to apply in person Tuesday during the facility's job fair.

The hiring board is looking for dependable employees to work 12 hour shifts.

"Staff that have a respect for others," said Assistant Superintendent of Operations Dick Brown. "We want employees that want to come in that can assist the offenders with reintegration back into society but still maintain safety and security of the facility."

If you missed the job fair you can apply online.
