Anthony Thompson talked with youth offenders at the Wabash Valley Correctional Institution.
The young inmates were incarcerated as adults. Thompson shared his message of hope and how he overcame life's hurdles to achieve success on and off the field.
The former professional football player also hopes they understand it's never too late to make a fresh start. “I'm just trying to encourage the young men to stay positive. Their life is not over with. Everyone makes poor decisions. Hopefully they can learn from this and move on with their lives.”
The institution says Thompson is the first of a special speaker series for the inmates.
Thompson was a Heisman Trophy Runner-Up and played professionally for the Los Angeles Rams.
