The Hamilton Center and Lugar Center co-hosted a conference today about dealing with mental issnesses.
The event covered topics from addiction to suicide, and focused on how doctors can deliver proper care to their patients who have these diseases.
A large portion of the audience were medical students.
The medical director of the lugar center said it is important to teach the up-and-coming physicians how to deal with different mental-health conditions.
I think the key here is education. Teaching these young learners how common these diseases are and the best ways to treat them," says Dr. Tom Turner
Speakers for the event included medical staff from the Hamilton Center and Union Hospital as well as members of the Local Drug Task Force.
