The landscape surrounding the Holiday Inn at US 41 and I-70 in Terre Haute is about to change -- bringing more options and more jobs to the city. At a news conference on Friday, it was announced that travelers through Terre Haute will soon have another hotel option. General Hotels Corp. plans to build a Marriott Spring Hill Suites Hotel, just behind the existing Holiday Inn. The new hotel will feature 93 suites, which are 25 percent larger than traditional hotel rooms. Groundbreaking is set for this summer, and the hotel should be open for business by the spring of next year. It`s expected to create 20 to 25 new jobs.
