IL Ban On Recording Police Still In Effect

Whether you live in Illinois or just visit there, you should be aware of the state's eavesdropping law that's still in effect.

As NBC 2 has investigated over the past year, citizens have been arrested and charged for recording police in public.

Video recording is allowed but any audio is considered a crime in Illinois and it's punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
