A director is named to head the new Vigo County YMCA.

According to the Tribune Star, Clay County Y officials selected Eleanor Ramseier to the position. The paper reports that Ramseier is a Terre Haute real estate professional and fitness enthusiast.

The Clay County YMCA purchased the former Riverbank Family and Fitness center in February. Officials hope the new Vigo County Y will be able to open later this month.

Donations and memberships are still needed, though.

Membership applications are available at the Vigo County YMCA from 1 to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m, and at Baesler's Market from 4 to 6 p.m. Donations can be made online or at any First Financial Bank branch.
