Mayor Bennett Previews Wabash Avenue Construction

On Live at Five, Mayor Duke Bennett discusses a variety of issues.
He previewed the future work being done to improve Wabash Avenue between 13th Street and 25th Street. The work will be extensive with lane restrictions, etc. Motorists are advised to be prepared for changes on that traffic artery.
Mayor Bennett also discussed the success of the Maple Avenue Park saying hundreds of visitors have already enjoyed it.
The mayor also discussed the need for a streamlined non-smoking ordinance to be consistent among the city, the county and the state.
Mr. Bennett talked about the drought conditions and how the city may be forced to buy water for used by the city's golf courses.
He also invited everyone to attend his next Mayor's Neighborhood Summit at Ryves Hall.
