Agencies in the Valley are gearing up to help keep folks cool on days when temperatures could set new records.

The American Red Cross in Terre Haute will open its offices on Thursday and Friday as a cooling station. Their doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In Sullivan County, the Emergency Management Agency and Salvation Army will have a cooling station open at The Gathering Place. It is the annex to the First Christian Church on Broad Street.

In Putnam County, the Red Cross is partnering with Emergency Management and the Putnam County Hospital. They will open up a cooling site in the hospital lobby on South Bloomington Street in Greencastle. People can seek refuge from the heat there during daylight hours.

Temperatures are expected to hit triple digits Thursday.
