An Indiana gubernatorial candidate made a stop in the Valley this afternoon.

Democratic nominee John Gregg was in Vigo County to talk about how the drought is affecting local farmers.

Gregg says if elected he will work the USDA's Farm Service Agency to make disaster funds available in times of need.

He says this is an important issue because the drought doesn't just affect farmers, it affects families and consumers as well.

"This is devastating to not just the farm family, that's one thing we forget," said Gregg. "It affects the economy in the small towns that is a struggle anyway.  so it affects all of us in Indiana and sometimes I think that's lost."
