If you're looking to head out to the Vigo County Fair this week, you may want to re-think how you get there.

Admission for the Vigo County Fair has gone up for those who want to walk in.

Until this year you could get into the fair for free if you didn't drive, but they are now charging $5 for anyone who enters on foot.

The price per car is staying the same at $5.

Officials say they have up'd the price for safety and to discourage people from crossing U.S. 41.

"Several near accidents and some actual accidents with people trying to cross U.S. 41 and the four lanes of traffic. We really don't want that to happen so that's the reason we are encouraging everybody to pile as many people as you want in one car," says Jennifer Cook of the Vigo County Fair board.
