Terre Haute Police confirm two Sunday shootings are somewhat related, and they're asking for your help to bring the gunmen to justice.

The shootings started at 2 a.m. Sunday near the Blue Katt on Wabash Avenue.

Witnesses told police a red Chevy Suburban sped away from the scene.

When officers found the vehicle, the two black male occupants were unarmed.

Then, Sunday afternoon, two men were shot near a basketball tournament outside the Booker T. Washington Community Center.

Police found one victim near the center.

The other was taken to a local hospital in the same Suburban that was seen speeding away from the first shooting scene.

Now, police are pleading for the public's help.

"While the only people hurt may have been the participants in this event, both venues were public places where a lot of innocent people were at, and we want to put an end to this as soon as possible.  So any information that anyone might have, we would implore them to come forward," said THPD Assistant Chief Shaun Keen.

Police are not releasing the names of the victims, and would only say they're in stable condition at hospitals outside the area.

Witneses to the shooting at the community center say multiple black males fired shots.

Once police complete their investigation, they'll turn the findings over to the prosecutor's office.
