A Valley hospital is celebrating over a century of service.
Union Hospital hosted its Founders Day event Friday afternoon.
Opening its doors in 1892, this year's celebration highlighted the hospital during the 1920's and 1930's.
Organizers say it's important for the community to see just how far the medical facility has come, and to honor those who have helped build it's legacy.
"Has played a vital role in the community, Terre Haute as well as the Wabash Valley so it's been a great facility," said archivist Norma Shaw. "To see the roots of the past of Union Hospital and it's role here."
And the hospital is still continuing to grow, the new labor and delivery and neonatal units opened their doors last month.
