Well why not shop - for a good cause this weekend?

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is teaming up with Jeannie's Gallery for a silent auction.

You can bid on - and take home - appliances, furniture and household items, and all of the money will go back to the ReStore in Terre Haute.

This is the first year for the silent auction, and organizers are excited for the opportunity to help people right here in the Valley.

"The big thing is so we can help people get into new homes. With habitat for humanity what we try to do is we try to get people out of poverty housing and into new homes," said Larry Dull, manager of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. "Keep it in the community. We can help people around the town here."

The auction is this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Jeannie's TV and Appliances Galleria (5015 U.S. 41 in Terre Haute).

You can also donate to the silent auction by dropping items off at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 1831 Wabash Avenue in Terre Haute, or by bringing your donation to the auction on Saturday.
