In the wake of a hate crime in the Terre Haute, residents are coming together to announce that this is "No Place For Hate."
At the Vigo County Public Library Tuesday, an organizational meeting was held for those interested in combating hatred, racism, and prejudice.
Groups will be working on different projects and planning events to make people aware of how hate crimes diminish a community.
The effort is headed by Sister Dorothy Rasche, from The Sister`s of Providence and Library Director Nancy Dowell.
Vigo County Public Library Director, Nancy Dowell, "One of the key elements of our community is we are trying to promote growth, we`re trying to promote economic development and with those two things come the whole concept of diversity. We want to be a welcoming community."
Anyone interested in working on a group or with an organization can contact Nancy Dowell at the Vigo County Public Library.
