If you receive social security or other Federal benefits, we want to remind you that all benefits will be paid electronically on March 1.

R
ight now the Treasury Department is mailing 5 million paper checks each month.

It is urging those who receive benefits to switch to either direct deposit or the Direct Express Debit MasterCard card.

You can do that by calling 800-333-1795, visiting the website, www.GoDirect.org or talk to your local federal paying agency office.

Once again, the deadline for stopping paper payment is March 1.
