With a week to go before the election some Indiana state Republican candidates are traveling throughout the state to drum up support. Secretary of State Todd Rokita, along with candidates for auditor and treasurer, Tim Berry and Richard Murdock joined local Republican candidates and supporters Monday at the local GOP Headquarters near Honey Creek Mall. The trio is going to many Indiana counties on a `bus` tour and added Vigo to that list to convince voters to stand up and be counted. Rokita said, "It`s a philosophy that as we see on TV everynight that isn`t necessarily shared around the world, but it`s the right philosophy, it`s what makes America free." Vigo County Republican Chairman Bill Treadway added, "We believe we have some of the finest candidates in the history of the Republican Party both at the state level and the local level and we would appreciate everyone`s support on November 7th." Rokita told us absentee voting is up around Indiana and expects a better turnout than normal.
