The case of a missing I-U coed has been solved. John Myers the Second has been found guilty of kidnapping and murder in the disappearance and death of Jill Behrman. Behrman was last seen riding her bicycle near Bloomington in 2000. Her remains were finally found in Morgan County in 2005. Weeks later, Myers was arrested and charged in the crime. The jury in the Morgan County Circuit Courthouse deliberated for only fifty minutes before returning a guilty verdict that was released shortly after 6:00 local time on Monday. The prosecution presented 50 witnesses during the trial while the defense had only two. The state claims that Behrman was killed within a mile of a mobile home where Myers lived in 2000. The defense had maintained that Behrman was involved with an older man, was pregnant and that led to her murder. The jury believed the state and returned the verdict of guilty. A sentencing hearing for Myers is set for December first.
