A fire rips through a Wabash Valley home Saturday.

A fire heavily damaged a Terre Haute home at the intersection of Wabash and McKinnley Blvd.

The Terre Haute Fire Department arrived on scene after neighbors reported heavy smoke around noon.

The department says the house was vacant and no one was hurt.

"When the guys got here there was heavy smoke and flames. Even though it's a vacant structure they still made sure there was no one inside and cleared it. They did a great job," said Terre Haute Fire Department Batallion Chief Nick Sarris.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Neighbors say they've noticed several people hanging out inside the unoccupied home for weeks.
