A party begins a local non-profit's preparations for a special cause.
Local folks attended the Wabash Valley March for Babies kick off party at Indiana State's Hulman Center Thursday afternoon.
The annual event celebrates the start of its biggest fundraiser to help babies be born healthy.
It's a way for people to gear up for the annual walk in the spring.
Organizers say it's a cause many people can relate to.
"When you look at the number of babies being born pre-term they are about one out of nine in Indiana. Somewhere close to 12 percent of babies that are born are born pre-term right here in Indiana; that's too many. The money we raise goes towards one day lessening that number of babies being born pre-term," said Nikki Smpson with March for Babies.
