The Indiana State women's basketball team had four individuals selected to the All-Missouri Valley Conference teams announced today by the league office, awards voted on by the head coaches and a media panel from around the conference.

Junior Anna Munn led the way with a Second Team All-MVC selection, followed by sophomore Racheal Mahan earning Honorable Mention All-MVC status. Senior Taylor Whitley was named to the MVC All-Defensive Team while freshman Marina Laramie was voted to the MVC All-Freshman Team.

Munn leads the team and ranks fourth in the MVC in scoring this season, averaging 14.7 points per game with 22 games of at least 10 points. The Indianapolis native has posted some of her best games of the season away from Hulman Center, going for a career-high 27 points on the road at Missouri State (Feb. 1) and Southern Illinois (Feb. 16) this season. Munn also leads the conference in minutes played, averaging 37.2 minutes per game on the court. The ISU guard ranks third in the MVC with 68 three-pointers this season, sitting in seventh place in Indiana State's career standings. On Tuesday, Munn was also named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team.

Mahan has posted nine double-doubles this season, ranking in tie for second best in the conference. For the season, Mahan averages 13.1 points and a team-leading 8.0 rebounds per game, far exceeding her 3.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game that she averaged as a freshman. The Mansfield, Ohio native has posted at least 20 points in three games, including 23 points at Saint Louis (Nov. 29) and at Drake (Jan. 11).  Mahan has pulled down an MVC-leading 98 offensive rebounds this season, setting the single-season record at Indiana State. The ISU sophomore has averaged 3.4 offensive rebounds per game this season, passing Kristin Stewart (94 - 2001-02) for the most offensive rebounds in one season in school history.

Whitley became the 26th member of the 1,000 Point Club against Drake on Feb. 10 earlier this season and enters the 2013 MVC Tournament in a tie for 21st in scoring at Indiana State with 1,080 career points. The Geneva, Ill., native also ranks sixth in career steals (235) and seventh in career assists (367) at ISU, one of only four Sycamores to be in the top 10 in career steals and assists. Whitley leads the MVC by averaging 2.7 steals per game this season, totaling 74 overall. The ISU guard ranks third on the team this season at 10.5 points per game and has scored in double figures in 18 games, including a season-high of 20 points at Drake on Jan. 11. On Tuesday, Whitley was also named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team.

Laramie was inserted into the starting lineup over the past 12 games (since ISU's road game at Illinois State on Jan. 25) and has responded by averaging 10.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. In her 17 games coming off the bench, the newcomer from O'Fallon, Mo., averaged 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. In her 12 starts, Laramie has posted a career-high 27 points against Missouri State on March 1 and a 10-point, 14-rebound double-double against Creighton on Feb. 8. Laramie's 27 points against the Bears were the most for an Indiana State freshman since Bianca Jarrett posted 32 points on the road at Southern Illinois on Feb. 21, 2009.

Indiana State enters the 2013 MVC Tournament as the fifth seed and will match up with fourth-seeded Northern Iowa on Friday, March 15. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m. (ET) from inside The Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo., and can be seen live for free through ValleyLive at mvc-sports.com or heard over the radio on WPRS AM 1440.
